Meet the Doctor
Dr. Thomas J. Lucas, DMD, PhD
Dr. Lucas grew up in Eclectic, Alabama, near Lake Martin. He earned both his dental degree (DMD) and PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also completed an honors biomedical research program.
After practicing general dentistry in Auburn for four years, he returned to UAB for specialty training in endodontics (root canals). Since then, he has practiced in Georgia and Tennessee before deciding to return closer to home. Dr. Lucas is a member of the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association, and the American Association of Endodontists. He is board eligible and working toward board certification in endodontics.
Now settled in Auburn, Dr. Lucas is excited to serve patients in the Auburn/Opelika area and provide the highest level of care in endodontics.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Lucas enjoys life with his wife, Laura, and their five daughters—Abby, Ella, Charlee, Quinnley, and Willa. He loves family time, weekly date nights with his girls, traveling, off-roading in his Jeep, and discovering hidden local restaurants.
