What to Expect at Hometown Endodontics

Before Your Visit

To help your appointment run smoothly, we recommend the following:

  • Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork. Patient forms may also be completed in advance through our website.
  • Bring the following items with you:
    • A list of current medications
    • Your dental insurance card(s), if applicable
    • A valid photo ID
  • If you have any medical conditions, dental anxiety, or special concerns, please let our team know ahead of time so we can best accommodate your needs.

During Your Visit

Your initial appointment typically includes a comprehensive consultation. During this visit, we will review your condition, explain your diagnosis, and discuss recommended treatment options. In many cases, treatment may begin the same day.

You can expect:

  • A review of your medical and dental history
  • Any necessary diagnostic imaging
  • A thorough clinical examination
  • A clear explanation of findings and treatment recommendations

Our team takes the time to answer your questions and ensure you feel informed and confident about your care.

After Your Visit

After your root canal is complete, you’ll need to see your general dentist within 3-4 weeks for a permanent restoration. This step is essential to protect your tooth and ensure long-term success.

Depending on your treatment, a follow-up appointment may be scheduled to complete care or monitor healing. You’ll receive detailed post-treatment instructions to promote a smooth and comfortable recovery. We will also communicate with your referring dentist to ensure continuity of care.

At Hometown Endodontics, we understand that visiting an endodontist can feel intimidating for some patients. That’s why Dr. TJ Lucas, DMD, PhD, and our experienced team are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care in a welcoming environment. If you have any questions before your appointment, please don’t hesitate to contact us — we look forward to caring for you and helping restore your comfort and confidence.
